Reny Picot cheeses got two medals, one gold and one silver, in this prestigious world contest, where the prize for the best cheese in the world is awarded.
The World Cheese Awards have once again recognized the quality and taste of our cheeses. In this 32nd edition, held in Bergamo (Italy), two of our goat cheeses, Le Fleuret and Le Sarlet, both made in our factory in France, Le Chèvrefeuille, have been awarded.
Le Fleuret and Le Sarlet, winners
Le Fleuret has won the gold medal and Le Sarlet has received the silver one, in their respective categories. Both cheeses are produced with care and dedication in an artisanal way. Le Fleuret is a goat cheese matured with mold, lactic paste and hand molded. Its texture is unctuous and its flavor is soft and subtle when it is young and more intense as it matures. Le Sarlet, also hand molded, evolves from soft to semi-dry, as its maturity progresses, and is characterized by its slightly spicy taste.
World Cheese Awards 2019
This year, 3,804 cheeses have competed in the World Cheese Awards, from 42 countries, both from large producers and small artisan cheese factories. The jury of the World Cheese Awards 2019 has been composed of 260 judges from 35 different countries who have tasted and valued the cheeses taking into account their appearance, texture, aroma and flavor.

The next World Cheese Awards will take place in Oviedo, in November 2020, making the Asturian city the world capital of cheese, during the celebration of the Asturias Paradise Natural Cheese Festival.
